I think Finn would totally crush on Beth from Bravest Warriors.

Samurai Drawings from the Art Museum, plus Matt
I had an amazing evening of drawing and then drinking with "Drink and Draw In Portland" for November's free Museum night! All my drawings were done in the Samurai exhibit, which was absolutely astounding. So very many sets of armor and paintings and sculptures to get inspired by! And after we got some beer and my very mathy husband joined us, as can be seen in the last sketch. =)

Drawings from photos
Did some drawings from photos found online. Always a good exercise!
These were all done with my typical tools: Col-Erase Crimson pencil, extra fine point sharpie, Pentel Japanese brush pen, and water brush filled with diluted India ink.

More zoo sketchin'
It was a lovely day of zoo sketching with Drink & Draw in Portland! We lucked out on the weather and we got some great posers. The black bears were playing "king of the snowpile", the elephants young and old were giving us a good show, and at least a couple of us saw the lion cubs for JUST a moment!

"Animated Arts PDX" Drink & Draw gestures!
At the Animated Arts PDX drink & draw, I did my best to keep up with the crazy performances of a juggler, fan dancer, hoola-hooper, aikido demonstrator, and other dancers. It was a special night for gesture drawing!

Trees and samurai, of course
Last night I went to the Art Museum with the Drink & Draw in Portland group and drew the samurai standing just outside the entrance to the samurai exhibit. I will definitely be going again in November!
And today I went to Ladd's Addition in SE Portland and sketched some trees with the Portland Urban Sketchers! It was a bit cloudy, but the trees were vibrant.

Portland Art Museum sketch crawl
Last night I went to the Portland Art Museum with the official Drink & Draw Portland group. Every fourth Friday night, the museum is free to get into from 5-8pm. So we brought our sketchbooks, drew from about 6:30-8, and wandered over to a bar and shared sketchbooks and drinkies. This was a unique and wonderful drawing experience!

Painting Day 9/21/13
Went out with the Portland Urban Sketchers to do a little Plein Air painting of the sculpture at Pettygrove Park. I got this far and it started POURING. I wish I could have gotten it finished!
Some of us decided we hadn't done enough painting yet, so we wandered over to the PSU farmer's market and I chose to paint the flowers at the flower shop.
Then I got home and decided I needed to paint some more, so I painted this guy based on a sketch I did at the zoo, back in July.
